Feeding Neighbors In Need.

This Thanksgiving, we’re making sure no family feels forgotten. Neighbors & Nourishment: Feeding Neighbors in Need is proud to give back this season by providing warm, traditional holiday meals to families who need them most. With the support of donors and volunteers, we deliver more than food — we bring comfort, dignity, and a reminder that no neighbor is ever alone at the table.

  • Making a difference starts with action. Every person has a role to play in this Thanksgiving initiative, whether through donations, volunteering, or advocacy. A gift of $50 provides an entire meal for a family, while $150 sponsors three families who might otherwise go without. Volunteers bring meals to life through preparation, packaging, and delivery, while advocates amplify our impact by sharing the mission with friends, family, and on social media. Your contribution—big or small—transforms compassion into real, tangible change.

  • At the heart of this initiative is a simple but powerful mission: to ensure that no neighbor goes without a warm, traditional Thanksgiving meal. For many families, the holiday season can be a painful reminder of what’s missing at the table. By coming together as a community, we are breaking down barriers of food insecurity and replacing them with compassion, dignity, and shared belonging. This isn’t just about food—it’s about reminding people they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.

  • This effort goes beyond Thanksgiving Day—it’s about building a lasting legacy of hope, dignity, and connection. When neighbors support neighbors, it creates ripples of kindness that extend far beyond a single holiday season. Each meal shared is a step toward a stronger, more compassionate community where no one is left behind. Together, we are not just feeding bodies—we are nourishing futures and ensuring that the tradition of care, generosity, and belonging lives on year after year.

FAQs

Who is eligible to receive a Thanksgiving meal, and how do families register?

Families in need within Carroll Park, West Philly, and North Philly are eligible. Registration is required through our online form (accessible by QR code on flyers). This ensures we have enough meals prepared for every registered household.

Where and when will the Thanksgiving meal distributions take place?

Meals will be distributed at two locations:

  • North Philly – Shuler Playground, 3000 N 27th Street
    (27th & Clearfield)
    from 9 AM – 12 PM

  • West Philly – Carroll Park, 5801 W. Girard Avenue
    (58th & Girard Ave)
    from 2 PM – 5 PM
Times are tentative and may shift slightly based on volunteer capacity.

How much does it cost to sponsor a family, and what does the sponsorship cover?

A $50 sponsorship provides a complete Thanksgiving dinner, including turkey and sides, for one family. We encourage donors to sponsor a minimum of three families ($150), directly putting food on tables and hope in homes.

Can I donate more than once or at different times, and are donations tax deductible?

Yes! Multiple donations are welcome, and you can give at any time leading up to the event. Friends of Carroll Park is a registered 501(c)(3), which means your donations are tax deductible.

How can I volunteer to help—are there opportunities for shopping, packing, or delivering meals?

Absolutely. Volunteers are needed for every stage: shopping, packing, transporting, and distributing meals at both locations. A volunteer sign-up form is available via our website or reach out to us via email.

What makes this initiative different from other food drives in Philadelphia?

This isn’t just about food—it’s about dignity, connection, and community. Thanksgiving TOgether ensures families receive not only a holiday meal, but also the reminder that they are seen, valued, and not alone during the season.
